Typhoon Glenda: How You Can Help

100_8118 100_8124
On July 16th, Typhoon Glenda roared through the National Capital Region of the Philippines ripping up huge hardwood trees and destroying homes.  ALIG members and families are without power, some without water, yet their thoughts are still with those in surrounding communities whose houses were not as sturdy.
ALIG has reached out to members of our community and determined that there is a great need for metal roofing.  We will be distributing roofing to families of our sponsored school children in the San Pedro and Alabang areas over the next week.   These children are mainly from dumpsite areas where the families scavenge for a living.  The children are lacking sleep because their homes are inundated with water now that the rainy season is upon us.  We hope that providing adequate roofing will stabilize their homes so that the can return to school on time when classes resume.
To reach as many families as possible, we are requesting donations to purchase the metal roofing as well as the umbrella nails to secure it.  You can be assured that all donations will purchase materials that will go directly to people in need.
Approximately php2750 or USD65 or Euro45 will assist one family
Our goal is to assist 100 families.  Any amount, large or small is greatly appreciated.
